Ageless style: Winter whites
Wardrobe staples for everyone by fashion stylist Arabella Greenhill
When blue skies are replaced with grey and it’s dark by 4pm, we slip into the habit of dressing in stormy hues. However, winter whites and light neutrals can brighten any shade (and your day!) while creating a clean, sophisticated colour palette. Leaders in ‘quiet luxury’ – The Row and Fendi – demonstrated this on the catwalk this season with layered ensembles and crisp tonal tailoring.
Winter whites
- Season-proof whites with classic textures. White corduroy looks chic and expensive and is great paired with soft wools and even laid-back sweatshirts and hoodies.
- A tailored coat in white or a pale neutral will smarten up more casual pieces in your wardrobe. To allow room for thick knits and layers, opt for an oversized cut.
- Don’t underestimate the power of a white shirt. For a great fit, check out boxy, androgynous styles that sit loosely around the middle and skim over the hips.
