What’s the story?
Danielle Close, former head of social media at Charlotte Tilbury, launched her two-product brand – a face wash and a moisturiser – this year. Her goal? To create skincare made from food industry waste.

Why should I buy?
The UK generates 9.5 million tonnes of food waste each year, and the EU 59 million tonnes. My Skin Feels Fruity Face Wash is over 99 per cent natural, vegan and made with organic rescued ingredients including vitamin- and antioxidant-rich tomato skins from ketchup and sauce manufacturing, as well as water left over from mandarin fruit juice production. Plus the aluminium tubes and plastic caps are recyclable.
Why shouldn’t I buy?
Ingredients are sourced in Italy and packaging in the EU as the UK isn’t yet set up for food-to-skincare production.

One per cent of sales is donated to the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership, which educates people about food waste and building composting sites.
