THE GREEN GUIDE: Interiors editor Nicole Gray challenges your home's eco credentials

WHAT'S THE STORY?
Liga was founded in 2017 by Cornwall-based Jennie Elderkin after she struggled to find practical homeware that was also affordable and kind to the planet.
WHY SHOULD I BUY?
These coasters are made of cork gathered from the only species of oak with bark that regenerates after each harvest, making it a fully sustainable resource. Cork trees absorb 32 million tons of CO2 from the earth's atmosphere each year, helping offset the greenhouse effect.
WHY SHOULDN'T I BUY?
The cork is harvested in Portugal, so has to be exported to the UK.
