What’s the story?
Who Gives a Crap (WGAC) was founded in Australia in 2012 by friends Simon Griffiths, Danny Alexander and Jehan Ratnatunga to help raise funds to build toilets and improve sanitation around the world. Griffiths launched the company with a crowdfunding campaign, for which he sat on a warehouse loo for 50 hours, until the first £26,000 had been raised.

Why should I buy?
Every day, 27,000 trees are cut down to become regular loo roll, but WGAC uses recycled paper. It donates 50 per cent of its profits to charities that build toilets and improve sanitation for those in the developing world, 2.4 billion of whom are currently without access.
Why shouldn’t I buy?
Although WGAC is exploring manufacturers in the UK, rolls are currently manufactured in China and exported.

WGAC has donated more than £5 million to sanitation charities including WaterAid, Sanergy and Shining Hope for Communities.
